Back in 1993, on the Friday night before the new football season was about the start for legendary unknown football giants Sefton Rangers, a dream was born over beer and toasties in the Nethy pub... our very own fanzine...
The three Rangers' club members with too much time on their hands and who could string three words together (some of which might even be English) were despatched to make this dream a reality and within the day a first edition had been compiled.
Two further editions were to follow, each one an improvement on the previous one, until lethargy, laziness and lack of interest set in and the three amigos packed it in.
But those three editions still enjoy legendary status among the 20 or so people from the length and breadth of that little bit of Netherton that isn't quite Orrell Park and not quite Aintree, who enjoyed it at the time.
So now, in timely fashion (I'm not sure why - too much time again, maybe?), I've decided to publish those three masterpieces again electronically for a whole new generation to shrug shoulders at.
I can't do this all at once, obviously, so I'll be adding stuff when I can until I've done the lot (and until I can figure out how I'm going to get the very popular cartoon strips into a readable format - leave that one with me!) so keep checking back. In the meantime, enjoy this little known gem from the past.
